Steve Wozniak nicknamed “The Woz” known as a coding genius and co-founder of the tech giant Apple along with late Steve Jobs has launched his online technology related education platform called “Woz U.” The platform will help people polish their skills that will ultimately lead them to a successful career in the growing tech industry.
According to a press release, “Our goal is to educate and train people in employable digital skills without putting them into years of debt,” Wozniak said. “People often are afraid to choose a technology-based career because they think they can’t do it. I know they can, and I want to show them how.”
For now, the platform will train software developers and computer support specialists; data science, cybersecurity, and mobile application programs will be introduced soon. Furthermore, Woz U will also provide school districts with K-12 STEAM programs, exposing digital engineering concepts to students at a younger age.
Based in the state of Arizona, Woz U also plans to launch ground campuses in 30 cities within the United States and around the world. Woz U has also launched an application that will help its students choose which technology-based career is best for them.
“My entire life I have worked to build, develop and create a better world through technology and I always have respected education,” Wozniak said. “Now is the time for Woz U, and we are only getting started.”
